Hello, welcome to my Substack. I am Uyen Luu, I have written 4 cookbooks, Vietnamese, Vietnamese Vegetarian & Quick & Easy Vietnamese published by Hardie Grant and Recipes From My Vietnamese Kitchen by Ryland Peters & Small. I have been cooking for other people every weekend since 2009 when I started my supper club.
During the week, I am a food photographer. I trained as a photographer/ film maker at Central St Martins. I graduated knowing how to shoot on celluloid, developing my own stills and motion picture. Splicing 16mm film and labelling film them with a chinagraph pen.
I have come here to share my thoughts, loves and pains through writing. I am not sure what I will be focusing on yet, perhaps its a place to share things that bring me joy and a location where I can voice my insights and past experiences. Lets see, shall we?
